Purpose of the role

Reporting directly to the Board, maintain responsibility for the overall financial management of the Group critically including assessing the coherence between the Group’s strategy and financial performance.

Drive optimum financial management and control within the Group.

Identify an implement appropriate management and control systems, and ensure Group wide adherence, to ensure necessary policies and procedures are in place.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversight on the key control projects managed by the finance team ensuring adherence to agreed procedures.
  • Responsibility for the direction of the local and wider global finance teams.
  • Oversee timely and accurate production of management information and forecasts including preparation of scenario planning analysis as required.
  • Provide challenge to the operational board regarding the Groups strategic direction and appropriateness of resource structure.  
  • Challenge operational management of the company regarding financial performance and forecast and prepare timely reports to the operational board on performance.
  • Provide financial advice to operational management to assist them in achieving their objectives.
  • Ensure all financial reporting and data are in compliance with GAAP, Group standards and applicable statutory requirements both within the UK and other appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Oversee the continual improvement of financial systems and reporting to ensure maximum efficiency, clarity and effectiveness.  Develop an internal audit programme to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the structure of the finance teams, both locally and within the wider group, are appropriate and further that personal professional development plans are in place to promote the ongoing development of staff.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven experience in a senior Finance role.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft packages, advanced level in Excel, and familiar with a variety of finance systemsRF knowledge and application needed. 
  • Ability to work cross functionally
