Since 1985 we have been developing new technology, improving the capabilities of satellite ground station equipment and enabling people across the world to connect wherever they are. See below a selection of the world firsts we have created and how the company has developed over the years.

2019

Acquired assets and the associated development team of Apexsat Pte Ltd, a group specialising in the design and manufacture of steerable earth station solutions and motorised and transportable antenna systems.

2018

Purchase of assets and development team from Skyware Technologies.

2015

Purchase of Skyware Global.

2014

Purchase of OnePath Network (trading as Foxcom) in November.

Global Invacom is admitted to AIM.

2012

Listing on Singapore Exchange with reverse takeover of Radiance.

Formed Global Invacom Sdn Bhd.

Purchase of The Waveguide Solution.

2011

Purchase of ProVision Assets.

2010

Purchase of controlling Interest in Radiance Group.

Started Dish Manufacturing.

2009

Global Invacom wins the Astra Innovation award for the New Optical LNB concept (FibreMDU).

NEW FibreMDU support products available.

First FibreIRS system deployed to service 16,000 homes from a single head end.

2008

On the 1st April ‘Global Communications (UK) Ltd’ and ‘Invacom Ltd’ merged to form Global Invacom.

Global Invacom partners BSkyB and the SCR and Smart splitter are born.

Global Invacom designs and manufactures the world’s first ‘affordable’ Fibre LNB and distribution products.

2007

Global designs and manufactures the new Stacker De-Stacker using onecable technology.

Global launches the Super Plus Combiner (SPC4).

2006

Roger and Helen Pannell take a 5 year sabbatical and appoint Tony Taylor as Global’s new Managing Director.

Awarded 1st prize in the ASTRA Innovation Contest 2006.

2005

Global launches the AViLYnX. High Quality Audio Video Distribution over CAT5e cable.

Global also launches the ‘Global SwitchMaster’ a new range of High Performance, yet affordable Multiswitches for the mass market.

2004

Multiswitch sales grow to over 200,000 per month.

Launch of the world’s first circular polar/linear polar LNB.

2003

Global designs the NTSC tvLINK for North, Central and Latin America.

2002

Global reaches sales of over 150,000 Multiswitches per month.

Global supplies tvLINK into South Africa for Multichoice.97% of all Global production now manufactured through our Far East facilities.

2001

tvLINK sales top 1 million.

Global partners BSkyB again to transition hotel type (SMATV) customer base, to digital.

Launch of the world’s first integrated Data over Satellite (DOS)/VSAT-LNB.

2000

Global design and supply two bespoke high performance Multiswitches to Echostar.

The LoftBox is launched in the UK.Global partner ‘Yes’ (Israel) with tvLINK & MDU products.

Global Communications UK Ltd makes a major investment in Invacom.

Invacom is formed.

1999

In support of the Echostar contract Global begins manufacturing in China.

Echostar switch almost all their switch requirements to the SW21, exclusively from Global.

38% of Global is sold to the 4 members of the management team.

1998

Global achieves record sales of over 1 million Frequency extenders.

Global commissioned to develop the SW21* switch for Echostar.

Global conceives tvLINK concept for BSkyB and the first ever tvLINKs (and support products) are produced and released on 1st October (Sky digital switch on day).

1997

Global partners Kinavig and designs the ISIS. Originated by Global this product, involved a switching frequency extender and sold more than 100,000 units.

In the year Global were also the first company to design and manufacture DiSEqC switches.

1996

Global partners BSkyB in transitioning their subscribers to Astra 1D.

Soon the 500,000th ADXplus is manufactured.

1994

The launch of Astra 1D.

Global brings out the ADXplus (originated by Global) and partners TV Asia in transitioning it’s subscriber base to a new channel location.

1993

Global creates yet another first, the beginning of the ADX frequency extender.

1992

Global Designs the first ever LNB Stacker (Single Cable Solution).

1991

Global Communications produces it’s first 100,000 products in 1 year.

1990

Global moves its Head Office to Winterdale Manor, Althorne.

First Mini Magic Switch.

1989

Production begins of another Global first, the Mini Magic Switch is born.

1988

Global Communications Designs and Manufactures the first Multi-Switch.

1987

The Company now had seven employees and needed new premises. The office in Burham-on-Crouch was obtained and Global moved in.

1985

Global Communications was formed by Roger Pannell. He and his wife Helen manufactured and sold products from the garage of their family home.
