We have developed a special motorisation solution for motorizing a feed on an Earth Station Antenna.

Motorizing a feed on an Earth Station Antenna (ESA) is a difficult task as the feed system consists not only of a Feed Horn and an OMT but also a long and heavy Waveguide encapsulated inside a Torque tube.

For this situation, we have developed a special motorisation solution including our proven polarization motorization, a matching OMT and a rotary joint which is attached to the rear end of the torque tube. This allows the system to drive the OMT while the Waveguide and Horn are fixed. This solution can be used for all types of Earth Station Antenna and for any Frequency Band be it C, Ku, C/Ku or Ka Band.

The motorized Feed is driven by a strong DC Motor which itself is controlled by an Intelligent Motor Control Unit (iMCU) allowing the Unit to move with a maximum speed of up to 5° per second. The iMCU allows the adjustment of acceleration & deceleration rates and the top speed minimize backlash and to optimize pointing The iMCU is connected to our advanced APS700 Antenna control unit enabling the full control of the feed motorization.
